I think if we stopped funding some of the small government armies, then enrollment of children soldiers may be lesser. I don't think that would fully solve the problem though. I think the governments should also have control over their civilians.
I know for a fact that we should stop funding governments like Somalia. We could be using this money to help our poor economy, but we basically are just throwing it away.
I don't really know if there is a "specific age" that you're ready to be a soldier. I do know that when you're young, you can barely think for yourself, let alone think about taking the lives of other people. You don't even know what you want to be when you grow up at that age.
GRRRRRRRRRRR, this just makes me FRUSTRATED! >:/

We should definitely stop funding the countries that are putting children in combat positions. It would make it less likely for more children to go into war.
I think that the age when someone decides they are ready to be a soldier differs in everyone. Some people decide that they would go fight at a young age, while others might want to wait for a while and live their life as long as possible being normal; holding down a family and being there to support it.

I think the US should stop funding militaries that use child soldiers. To stop the use of child soldiers I think the UN should create sanctions against any military that uses them and maybe send UN soldiers to fight against them. I think if parents agree, their child can be soldiers at 17 if the parents do not get anything from it like money.
